The second generation BMW X5 released in November 2006

A 2k - 2003 model of the X5 with a V8 engine is marginally smaller than a 2004 - 2006 model of the X5 with the same V8 engine. The height difference is more clear with a 2001 - 2003 BMW X5 model with an inline-six engine and a 2004 - 2006 X5 model which is kind of 2 inches taller than its previous counterpart.

The second generation BMW X5 based primarily on the E70 platform was released in November of 2006.
